Craving a stress-free holiday season? This could be your year. More people will limit their holiday social plans and shopping more online. We like to share a winter tradition in our household that slows us down and brings us even more together. We bust out a 1,000 piece puzzle. We have used our dining table or a six-foot craft table in the past.
This year we can't leave a bunch of puzzle pieces out on a table within reach of our 2-year-old grandson. We are trying a "puzzle Susan". It perfectly holds our puzzle and spins for easy reaching any area you want to focus on. The very best part is that we can pick it up and put the entire puzzle out of reach as needed. Usually, we love leaving our puzzle out. Family members will stop by the table at all hours just to place a piece or two. Conversations bloom around a puzzle. Laughter erupts and old memories surface. Best of all these moments unearth the deepest sharing of views, feelings, and goals without the pressure of "let's talk".
How to beat the isolation feeling? There is only one way for that my dear. Connect more deeply to God. Many of my followers tell me that they are lonely and feel isolated. Feelings of sadness, loneliness, or isolation can get stronger during the holiday season. I'm sorry you are feeling lonely. It is such an isolating time.
I have been joining a meditation group online at Self Realization Fellowship. This way you can meditate with thousands around the world. Feels very good. Join the group and let me know if you enjoy it. I'll be meditating with you.
How to beat loneliness? One of my favorite quotes from Paramahamsa Yogananda, the founder of the Self Realization Fellowship can help you understand: There is a magnet in your heart that will attract true friends. That magnet is unselfishness, thinking of others first; when you learn to live for others, they will live for you.
My dear, whenever you struggle with loneliness, anxiety, or depression, contact me, let me help you beat the isolation.
