Halloween is one of our oldest holidays, it is a night of dressing up in scary costumes and going door to door to collect treats. In many cultures, this time of the year is the time to commemorate those who passed away. The Celts believed that on the night of October 31, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead opens, and ghosts of the dead can return to the physical world.
The Christian church named November 2 All Souls' Day, the day to honor the dead. All Souls' Day is celebrated similarly to Samhain the ancient Celtic celebration, with bonfires and dressing up in costumes as ghosts, saints, angels, and devils. Halloween is held on October 31st, while the Day of the Dead is celebrated on November 1st or 2nd. Both holidays focus on the idea that this time of the year, the spirits of the dead return to our world to visit their families.
The difference is that Halloween focuses on the scary aspects of the dead, while Day of the Dead honors the loved ones who have passed away. In some cultures, people believe that Halloween is a dangerous night when evil spirits walk the earth. The carved pumpkins and costumes are to frighten evil spirits away. Remembering and honoring our passed away loved ones is important. It helps in grief and healing. It helps us cope with our loss and go on living our lives in meaningful ways. Whatever your beliefs may be, it is always good to remember and honor your passed away loved ones.
Have you ever wondered how to communicate with your passed away loved ones? They are approachable and happy to communicate with you. The challenge can be in your understanding of their messages. I love it when people come to me and ask to help them communicate with their loved ones who have passed over. When you feel to communicate with passed over friends or family members, I can help.
You can also try to communicate with them at any time you feel. It is not as difficult as it seems. You just need to call them with love. I have many clients around Halloween, the boundaries between our world and the realm of the spirits are blurred. People feel an aspiration to experience communication with the otherworld, the world of supernatural beings, the world where our passed away loved ones continue their journey.
